During my internship in HSBC, another intern didn't know we couldn't use our USB drive in the computers in the office. One day, she wanted to print some materials from her USB drive, so she plugged in the USB. This behavior led to a system crash of all the computers during the whole afternoon.
I think a systemic training is needed for the newcomers. Although the online courses cover a lot of aspects, there is something that being not included. Storytelling could be very useful in many cases.

Aha, both of us talked about the training classes in HSBC, it seems that the company really does a good job in this area.
ReplyDeleteOnce I heard you have a tutor when you are in HSBC? But I did not have one, I hope they would have some training for the interns, not just learn by ourselves on-line. It is a little boring and easy to forget.
DeleteYes, I agree with you! And I guess that training newcomers in a physical way could be more helpful in terms of making them learn about the organization and adapt to it quickly.
