The ADKAR
model describes the five basic steps in effective change management. During my
internship period in an IELTS training centre, this organization introduced a
new integrated online platform for all teaching staff to obtain electronic
resources and to share information.
Awareness:
The management had realized the physical resources in the library cannot meet
the demand of teaching staff to get the latest documents and that an online
resource centre can facilitate the knowledge sharing among teachers.
Desire:
Almost all the teaching staff agreed to use the online system because of its
convenience and participate in learning and using the new system positively.
Knowledge:
The organization introduced the knowledge of effectively using this new
platform to its staff by inviting experts to hold workshops on the basic and
advanced skills for using this platform. We learnt a lot from those workshops.
Ability:
After the workshops, we all knew how to use the platform to help us prepare for
class and discuss problems. Having this new system, we can get the latest
information about IELTS both in the office and at home.
Reinforcement:
To ensure our frequent use of this online platform, the management added the
frequency of using this platform as an important criterion to the annual
assessment of each individual. This approach served as a facilitator to our use
of this platform in our daily work.

For the second step, you mentioned that all the staff agreed to use the newly virtual system, I'm wondering whether they built up shared vision? Is the only reason for their support belongs to convient using? Thanks for your sharing.
